Location: Poulmounty Pump Station, Co. Wexford

Commencement Date: 2020

Project Objective: Cantwell were successfully awarded a contract with Irish Water in 2020 for the provision of 2 new raw water pumps, VSDs, modifications to control panels and associated equipment at Poulmounty Pump Station, New Ross, Co. Wexford.

Project Solutions: As the awarded contractor, we were required to assess, design, supply, install, test, and commission a range of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation processes and equipment.

Cantwell proposed that the pump sets be installed as a packaged skid, in a newly constructed steel fabricated kiosk pump house, designed, and built off-site. Off-site construction allowed for less disruption to site and ensured that normal service was maintained while works were completed separately.

Following completion, fully equipped, and built, the skid was transported to the site location, ready for immediate installation and commissioning.

It was an efficient build and a successful project, resulting in a “plug and play” water pumping skid for Irish Water.
